JOB DESCRIPTION

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble and disassemble National Oilwell Varco proprietary and other proprietary oilfield equipment for shipment, inspection, or test under the direct supervision of a supervisor or lead assembly mechanic.
  • Install and Uninstall pumps onto the test stand safely using overhead crane.
  • Operate the test stand using automated controls
  • Use mechanical and electrical skills to troubleshoot issues within the test facility.
  • Perform hydro testing when required.
  • Record instrument readings as required for test procedures or company requirements.
  • Report any material discrepancies or material defects to area supervisor.
  • Perform tasks associated with the warehouse to include operating a forklift and other lifting devices for the movement of parts and other equipment, loading and unloading trucks, picking and pulling parts, and delivering parts to customer locations.
  • Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other shop personnel as it relates to the job.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment as required.
  • Adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • Maintain a clean & organized work area, utilize safe work habits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2+ years of experiencewith automation controls
  • 2+ years of general mechanical and/or assembly experience with rotating equipment.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts, and changing work schedules, and on-call duty.
  • Must be proficient in forklift and lifting devices operations and able to obtain certification.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division for the purpose of material take offs and fabricating.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and use impact wrenches and various other air tools and hand tools.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Must wear Proper Personnel Protective Equipment in designated area at all times.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
