Overview
Technician will be responsible for providing discipline support to Production operations in troubleshooting plant reliability and failures on Instruments and Controls equipment as well as Basic Care activities as per Operations routines. Technician will carry out scheduled routine preventative and corrective maintenance on all assigned instruments and controls equipment, under the supervision of the discipline/Campaign Supervisor, in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner to achieve Campaign targets and minimise impact on plant Operations.

Experience
A minimum of Five (5) years of relevant experience in oil and gas/petrochemical industry.
Ability to understand hook up & loop drawings, Cause & Effect charts (C&E), instrument drawings, schematics, PLC logic diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID), and Sequence of Event charts (SOE).
Full working knowledge in the maintenance and repair of wide range of Instrumentation found within Oil, Gas & Petro chemical sectors including Electronic (Smart, FF) devices, Pneumatic instruments, Control Valves, PLC's, DCS, ESD & F&G control systems, Gas turbine and Gas compression control and protection systems, Process Analysers, F&G Devices and metering systems.
Full working and maintenance knowledge of ATEX legislation
Should have a good knowledge of safety practices relating to the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industry.
Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office and SAP CMMS

Qualifications
Completion of fulltime secondary education, followed by a minimum of three years full time training in Instrument maintenance, electronic and microprocessor equipment to Ordinary National Diploma level.
