Your role and responsibilities
Join ABB Motion as a Field Service Engineer in Perth, Western Australia! Are you ready to take your career to the next level with a global leader in industrial automation? ABB Motion is expanding its team and looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to make an impact. In this dynamic role, you'll execute service work with low to medium complexity, adhering to ABB's high standards for processes, quality, and safety. Every day, you'll plan and execute tasks with a first-time-right approach, ensuring customer satisfaction and showcasing your expertise. Your sense of urgency and care will shine through in your responsibilities. If you love traveling, this role offers fantastic opportunities to visit remote sites frequently. Strong communication skills are essential, and if you're a collaborative, solutions-oriented professional, this role is perfect for you. You will be mainly accountable for: • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points. • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products. • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities. • Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.

Qualifications for the role
- Electrical engineering degree, registration with Engineers Australia or Grade A Electrical License.
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining, commissioning, and repairing AC & DC drives; experience with drive systems is advantageous.
- Industrial process application knowledge of variable speed drives and experience in automated manufacturing or mining industries is highly regarded.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to remote sites.
- Safety experience in industrial environments, including adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
