NES Fircroft is actively seeking an experienced Construction & Commissioning Professional in the Northern New Jersey region for our new client, a cutting-edge Carbon Capture Technology organizaition.  This position will be a contract to hire opportunity with frequent travel to project sites throughout the US, but will be generally based at their facility in Bridgewater, NJ.

Position Summary: Construction & Commissioning Coordinator

We are seeking a Commissioning & Construction Coordinator to join our client’s Technology and Projects organization. This person will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from commissioning planning and construction support through to system startup.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-driven, and possess strong technical expertise with hands-on experience. They will be able to ensure smooth transitions from construction to operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the construction & commissioning process across multiple locations.
• Provide construction support and work closely with construction teams to ensure quality control and assurance throughout the project.
• Manage and coordinate site activities to ensure the efficient and safe completion of projects.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, timelines, and procedures for system startup.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address and resolve any construction or commissioning issues that may arise.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in all stages of the project.
• Coordinate and liaise with various stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct troubleshooting and problem-solving activities during construction and commissioning phases.
• Support project leads and senior engineers in the execution of projects, ensuring that all objectives and deadlines are met.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during commissioning and construction phases.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or preferred, but not required.
• Proven experience in construction management and site coordination is required.
• Strong background in construction quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) practices.
• Construction experience in a heavy industrial, steel, chemicals, oil and gas, or similar industry.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Additional Information:

• This is a field-based role with up to 40% travel required between project locations.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing project needs and timelines are essential.
