Qualifications:

• B.Sc. Degree in an Engineering discipline from a recognised University; higher degree would be advantageous.
• Membership in a recognised professional engineering and/or project management association/institution is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 12 years' relevant experience in engineering, project management, and execution of oil & gas projects.
• Extensive experience managing and executing brownfield projects within the resource/petrochemical industry.
• Experience with pipeline and downstream fuel distribution projects; familiarity with CNG stations is an advantage.
• Knowledge of dense phase CO2 pipelines and process equipment, as well as mature field development and Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection schemes is advantageous.
• Proven experience managing brownfield petrochemical refinery projects.
• Experience working as a client/owner representative, ideally with an International Oil Company (IOC).
• Experience in engineering coordination across multiple disciplines during feasibility, concept optimisation, FEED, and EPIC stages.

• Procurement and Contracts: Overseeing the procurement of long lead items, managing contracts, and ensuring compliance with project timelines and budgets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will take the lead in managing complex projects and coordinating teams to ensure successful delivery from initiation through to handover:

1. Project Coordination and Leadership:

• Lead and coordinate project teams to deliver comprehensive project management services.
• Oversee all aspects of project execution, from inception through to completion and handover.

2. Project Planning and Management:

• Prepare, review, and implement various project plans, including Risk Management, Quality Assurance, and HSE interface plans.
• Participate in project planning, cost control, budgeting, contract administration, and progress reporting.

3. Engineering and Design Management:

• Manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve cost-effective designs and resolve technical and engineering issues promptly.
• Oversee the preparation of tender packages, manage the tendering process, evaluate submissions, and recommend actions to relevant committees.

4. Risk and Change Management:

• Develop and maintain risk registers to ensure that risks are effectively managed and mitigated.
• Coordinate the processing and resolution of contractor claims and variations.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Interface closely with end users, government and statutory authorities, and third-party entities, such as joint ventures.
• Contribute to the development and review of company procedures and guidelines.

6. Mentorship and Development:

• Assist in the development of Qatari Engineers, mentoring and supervising their progress in their development programmes.
