The Corrosion Technician, Texas Midstream provides corrosion control services to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements for Southern Hills and EZ pipeline and related midstream assets in Texas. This position can be based at various locations within the geographic area of responsibility and requires travel throughout this area. Locations where this position could be based include the Houston metro area (including Spring and Katy), Mt Belvieu, the Austin metro area/Central Texas, and Bryan/College Station.

Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.

Responsibilities May Include:
- Performing routine work such as test station maintenance and repairs, rectifier repairs, RMU repairs, field oversight, and excavation support.
- Completing annual cathodic protection surveys.
- Completing rectifier and bond inspections.
- Testing and Troubleshooting CP systems using various types of CP equipment.
- Evaluating and providing recommendations to mitigate corrosion control issues.
- Utilizing CPDM software to record, monitor and evaluate CP data and Internal Coupon Data to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Utilizing SAP for tracking PMs and WOs.
- Completing and issuing corrosion compliance reports.
- Monitoring and evaluating internal corrosion control systems.
- Coordinating the efforts of operations, maintenance, and contract personnel when they are providing corrosion control services.
- Coordinating the implementation of corrosion control projects.
- Providing corrosion control support on integrated project teams.
- Preparing proposed budgets for corrosion control programs and track approved budgets.
- Participating in regulatory and corporate audits.
- Supporting IMP data analysis & assessments.
- Supporting Pipeline Integrity Programs.
- Participating with teams in the corrosion function regarding best practices & compliance issues.
- Achieving certification through technical experience, education, examinations, and references. Annually maintains certification through professional activities and responds to emergencies as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- 3 or more years of work experience using current corrosion control methods
- Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even & uneven terrain
- To use hand & power tools
- To work alone a high percentage of the time
- To raise & transport supplies & equipment weighing 40 lbs
- To climb to the top of tanks & other facility assets
- To use work equipment manuals & maps
- To work outside in harsh weather conditions
- To travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- NACE CP Level 1 Certification or higher, or equivalent certification
- Associate's degree or higher in Corrosion Technology or related field
- Proficient in SAP, CPDM, or other Cathodic Protection Data Management systems
- Experience with AC mitigation, regulatory audits, troubleshooting various types of CP equipment, and corrosion control associated with pipeline operations
- Experience reading and understanding CIS, DCVG, ACVG, PCM, and other forms of CP data
- Working knowledge of DOT 195 (45 CFR 195)
