Wood is currently recruiting for a Junior Engineer- Architecture (Local National) to join its Iraq business unit focusing on directing and evaluating the establishment of the project concepts and evaluate aesthetics and architectural solutions for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Basra, Iraq on a 6/1 rotation.

This is a full-time onsite position in Basra, Iraq with travel requirement.

Wood has been awarded an Onshore Project to support an International Client operation by providing Engineering Services plus Project Management, Supply Chain, Construction, Commissioning, EPC Management support both within Iraq and Dubai offices. The Vision of this Contract is to enhance the production by delivering Greenfield and Brownfield modification projects that include new installations as well as a series of modifications to the existing facilities. Team of Engineers and Designers based in Dubai and Basra supports in execution of these projects.

Key Objectives

• Directs and evaluates the establishment of the Project Concepts and evaluate aesthetics and architectural solutions. Discuss and have approval on these issues by the Department Manager / Lead.
• Coordinates with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensure that other disciplines input are incorporated.
• Reviews Construction Specifications and Scope of Work based on input from Contractor Architectural Project Team
• Ability to perform all architectural works and activities for projects requiring one architect
• Supervise Architectural materials selection, procurement, vendors.
• Participate in site visits
• Keeps up with electronic and hardcopies of all code and standards related to Architectural Design. Files those applicable to the Project
• Updates and keeps track of available libraries and documentation required for the Project as well as the software resources

Expected:

• Degree in Civil / Architectural Engineering (B.Sc./B.Eng./M.Sc.)
• Minimum of 1-3 years' experience in the oil and gas industry
• Previous working experience would be an advantage.
• Candidates must have a Basra Residency Card
