Technical Consulting Manager II

Your role and responsibilities

In this role you will provide technical direction and assistance to ABB end customers, users and other ABB field personnel in the operation, inspection, maintenance and repair of assigned product lines to include but not limited to, power delivery, drive systems and control systems, etc. Responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilizing understanding and experience to execute business objectives, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals. Support Order to Remittance functions including project management, scheduling, procurement, and providing direction to other Team members. The work model for the role is onsite. #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification Services division at our ABB facility in West Sacramento, CA. You will be mainly accountable for: • Serve as the primary on-site representative to the ABB end customer/user and other ABB field personnel. • Preserve ABB's Safety Culture on every aspect and as first priority, in the field and always keeping an eye on co-workers. • Perform collateral duties as assigned to meet business needs as they relate to HSE, Quality, Integrity, etc. • Escalate any HSE violations immediately to ABB representative at project site and/or HSE personnel. • Comply with all ABB and end customer HSE policies and procedures and maintain a safe and compliant work area. • Perform duties as the Project Manager for all assigned ABB product lines and assist the customer with technical understanding of the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of multiple types of ABB products. • Assist customer with improving reliability and reducing cost of ownership • Provide single point of contact to the customer, customer team, and all other ABB stakeholders. • Continuously review processes for productivity improvements and cost savings. • Maintain documentation on assignments, complete reports, and test reports, understanding and utilizing job related software at completion of each assignment.

Qualifications for the role

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with various electrical controls (power delivery) and systems to include: Medium and High voltage system understating, Power Panel, Switchgear, MCC, Generators, ATS, and high voltage breakers, Electromechanical Repairs, Wiring Diagram such as Oneline drawings, layout drawing, 3-line drawing, and Schematics; Relay testing & Installations
  • Demonstrated proficiency in repair troubleshooting, shop operations, and testing of assigned programs / hardware.
  • Ability to make formal presentations to all audiences.
  • Experience with Salesforce and /or SAP preferred
  • Must be able to troubleshoot basic mechanical and full electrical control system.
