Great opportunity to work as a Construction Superintendent (Subsea Structures) for a reputable Operator (client side), involved in a major greenfield offshore project. 

Due to the urgent nature of this role, my client is only consdiering applications from EU nationals.
  • The Construction Superintendent will spend most of their time either outside in the fabrication / erection areas or visiting any offsite fabrication facilities. 
  • The Construction Superintendent (subsea structures) will take special interest in structural and mechanical construction works
  • Given that the superintendent will be present at the fabrication and erection areas for a significant period of time, they will actively demonstrate safety leadership.
  • The scope at the yard is expected to take app 18 months, during which the subsea structures gradually will be loaded out and shipped for installation. There could be an option for the selected candidate to mobilise to the offshore worksite to act as Offshore Construction Superintendent after completion of the yard scope.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deputise for Construction Manager as necessary.
  • Observe contractor’s black trades construction activities and raise any issues with Contractor’s supervisors and / or elevate more serious issues to company Construction Manager. 
  • Provide daily report to Construction Manager.
  • Liaise with Company onsite quality team to ensure that any corrective actions are implemented by the contractor and highlight any issues directly to both contractor and company inspectors.
  • Undertake investigations into issues around productivity and co-ordination as requested by the Construction Manager.
  • Provide specialist black trades input to the resolution of any structural or mechanical issues encountered during the construction of the work.
  • Undertake visits to offsite fabrication sub-contractors as necessary.
  • Liaise with Subsea Structural Lead to closeout any engineering issues that arise during the works.
  • Take part in any area or system walkdown activities as necessary for mechanical completion of the structural and mechanical works.
  • Ensure that company quality requirements are met for the structural and mechanical works.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership when in the construction yard.  Promote all aspects of occupational health and safety engaging with company and contractor safety initiatives alike.
  • Review construction workpacks for the offshore hook-up and commissioning work.

Requirements:
  • BSc / MSc within relevant engineering discipline
  • > 15 years of international offshore oil and gas industry
  • > 8 years of leadership experience
  • Track record of delivery in major projects
  • Track record site construction work
  • Experience in delivering offshore structures, preferably subsea structures
  • EU citizenship
