Context & Organization
As part of ENGIE's commitment to decarbonization, S&EM (Supply & Energy Management) plays a key role in managing and optimizing renewable assets.
The Renewables Energy Systems IS team (RES IS) develops and manages critical tools to represent and operate "green" assets, with a strong focus on gathering and analyzing data from wind and solar plants.
We are now looking for a Core Technology Lead to manage and inspire a team of developers, while ensuring the right architectural choices are made to support the long-term performance, reliability, and scalability of our information systems
Your Role
As Core Technology Lead, you will be above all a team leader and architect, combining management responsibilities with technical oversight.
Your mission will be to:

Your Role
As Core Technology Lead, you will be above all a team leader and architect, combining management responsibilities with technical oversight.
Your mission will be to:
- Lead, mentor, and develop your team: create a collaborative, motivating, and high-performing work environment.
- Define and guide the technical architecture of our renewable energy information systems.
- Coordinate with other teams (middleware, DevOps, support, business) to ensure smooth delivery of solutions.
- Guarantee quality and reliability of systems by putting in place best practices, processes, and governance.
- Drive innovation: evaluate new solutions and continuously improve our systems to keep pace with the fast-moving renewable energy sector.
You will act as a bridge between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that architecture choices and team activities are always aligned with ENGIE's strategic objectives in the energy transition.
Candidate Profile
Education & Professional Background
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing backend or IS development teams.
- Background in system architecture and IT project delivery, ideally in data- or cloud-related environments.
- Team leadership: proven ability to coach, mentor, and grow technical teams.
- Architecture design: capacity to design scalable, robust systems supporting business requirements.
- Stakeholder engagement: ability to translate business needs into technical strategies.
- Agile mindset: comfortable working in iterative and collaborative environments
Although this role is primarily focused on leadership and architectural oversight, familiarity with the following technologies will be considered a strong asset:- Cloud Infrastructure: understanding of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) and cloud-native design principles.
- Backend Development: exposure to Python-based systems, ensuring consistency in read/write operations across low-level APIs.
- Database Management: experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, including performance optimization and data modeling.
- Data Governance & Architecture: appreciation of scalable data architectures and governance frameworks.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic vision combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
- English (mandatory)
- French or Dutch (recommended)
