DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assist the Design Coordinators in planning and execution of the development and issue of engineering discipline design packs for external review.
- Working closely with the Technical Framework Lead and the Senior Engineering Manager in supporting all aspects of project technical delivery and scope management.
- Assist with the development and delivery of discipline-specific Design Packs.
- To assist with managing all relevant project documentation to meet client management procedure requirements
- Assist other engineering disciplines with specific deliverables such as reliability studies and asset review activities.
- To analyse work problems, make corrections when required to facilitate the completion of system assignments, and ensure that these are included across all design packs.
- Allocate tasks to the design team and monitor progress.
- Establish positive working relationships with the wider project team and client.
- Ensure project adherence to company quality processes and procedures, plus review and update procedures if necessary.
- Identification of project opportunities.
- To support the project construction and commissioning teams in identifying and managing risks and issues.
FUNCTION:
The Design Assurance Engineer is typically expected to undertake the following:
- Develop and review design packs (with Design Coordinators)
- Produce or check project documentation or discipline specific documentation within your degree discipline.
- Assist Technical Framework Lead and Senior Engineering Manager across multiple projects.
- Assist with the resolution of external review comments and minimise common comments across multiple Design Packs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- An engineering degree is required (Masters is preferred), but you also have some knowledge of other engineering disciplines.
- Experience of working with UK Gas Transmission (desirable) and Distribution Standards and Specifications for all disciplines, specifically focused around compressor stations or another similar highly regulated industry
- Understanding of the current British and European Standards
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good understanding of CDM Regulations
- Demonstrable experience in multi-disciplined team
