Advanced Field Service Engineer
As an Advanced Field Service Engineer here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide advanced technical facilitation and expertise to our customers in the Industrial Automation (IA) business unit. You will be accountable for troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, ensuring the successful implementation of our solutions, and driving customer satisfaction. Your expertise and dedication to excellence will play a crucial role in the success of our field service operations and the growth of our business. You will report directly to our Field Service Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Kuwait location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the efficiency, productivity, and safety of our customers' operations by providing exceptional technical facilitation and service.
Key responsibilities
- Site Custodian: 1) Maintains an accurate cyber-Database of the Installed Base by updating the Repository 2) Performs or ensures cyber-Preventative Maintenance Tasks are completed on time 3) Keeps customers informed on technical notifications and advises on recommended corrective actions. 4) Issues Monthly reports to Customers on the activities and system health as per the Reporting Guidelines. 5) Trusted Advisor to the Clients, working with or independently to Sales to advise clients of new technology or services that will add value 6) Assists with driving awareness for Break through Initiatives 7) Works with Solution Architect to Maintain the Automation Plans
- Lead Engineer on LSS Short Cycle project: 1) Provides technical leadership for the project 2) Provides technical coordination and planning 3) Defines the required deliverables as per the GPM 4) Works with PM to develop the schedule 5) Ensures deliverables Quality and Accuracy 6) Proactively drives the delivery /schedule, managing the customer and team to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget 7) Maintains the data and prepares as well as drives the project gate reviews as per Honeywell GPM practices 8) Pro-actively engages and informs the Project Manager of resources requirements 9) Drives all Technical issues as liaison with TAC to ensure successful conclusion 10) Pro-actively manages the risks and opportunities keeping the PM informed
- Cyber Scope: 1. Keep technically current with the HPS/HCI product/systems portfolio, while maintaining expert knowledge on specific designated cybersecurity disciplines 2. Services provided include on-site consulting, troubleshooting, network designs, implementation, assessments and other related tasks as identified.
- Delivery of SPOT services: 3. Takes full ownership for delivery as per the scope of work for the assignment, working in concert with the Services Operations leader (SOL) 4. Maintains communications with SOL and client to ensure tight coordination and agreement 5. Pro-actively Manages the SOW and informs SOL/PM of Risks and Opportunities
- Stand-By and On-Call: 6. Provides 24/7 support for assigned clients as per the Stand-By Roster issued Monthly. 7. Issues Post Incident report and associated actions and documentation 8. Remains prepared by ensuring that respective site ID's are maintained
- Sales and Tendering Support: 1. Provides Support for defining required activities and estimated durations to achieve the works 2. Reviews technical proposals for correctness and accuracy
- Mentoring: 1. Supports the development of Kuwait LSS resources through knowledge sharing and active mentoring of assigned mentees
Key skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a computer/electrical related field such as Computer Science, Computer information systems, electronics/electrical (MBA approval for Indian college) or in lieu of degree a minimum of 7 years' experience in industrial automation network systems engineering with minimum certification L3/L4 or OPM L4 in handling Honeywell DCS (TPS & EPKS) & with CCNI and Virtualization experience as VMware
- 8 + years' experience as senior FSE § 5 years' experience as service maintenance engineer § minimum certification L3/L4 & OPM L3/L4 in handling Honeywell DCS (TPS (preferred) & EPKS) § Engineer (Project environment) with commissioning and SAT experience § Experience in Managing sites with FIM, Fieldbus, Thin Clients § Online troubleshooting and modification experience § minimum 2 years with virtualization experience. § CCNI and Cybersecurity certification is a distinct advantage § Experience of carrying out OPM , Patch updates , Controller and IOP firmware upgrades on an online system
- Minimum of 6 years of proven experience in field service engineering, Strong technical knowledge and expertise in industrial cyber security Preferred CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional or similar security certification Linux/Windows Security Basics Process Control system design/implementation Excellent troubleshooting skills to resolve complex network and or application or system integration issues Fault Tolerant Ethernet (Honeywell product) Experience with virtualization preferably VMWare Preferred Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Experience performing network services at customer sites. Experience in LAN/WAN architectures & related diagnostic tools Specific experience in Cisco Routers, Switches, or Firewalls Microsoft - Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, Terminal Server Experience with anti-virus systems, backup & restore solutions, system management Experience with anti-virus systems, backup & restore solutions, system management Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience in project management and execution Strong customer focus and ability to build and maintain relationships Strong guidance and mentoring skills Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with industry advancements Results-oriented approach and ability to drive projects to successful completion Strong problem-solving and thoughtful abilities
