Senior Mechanical (Static) Engineer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Mechanical (Static) Engineer to join a dynamic offshore operation in Malaysia. This role offers the chance to work on complex static equipment, ensuring reliability, optimising maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of static mechanical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other critical assets.

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, ensuring long-term asset integrity.

• Develop and implement short- and long-term maintenance strategies, with a focus on optimising performance and reliability.

• Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and implement effective countermeasures to prevent recurring issues.

• Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications to static equipment.

• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams to enhance asset performance.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, supporting safety and operational excellence.

• Prepare work plans, budgets, and justifications for major spare parts and equipment procurement.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, driving innovation and efficiency in static equipment management.

• Promote and uphold a strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture across all activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in static mechanical engineering within the oil & gas, energy, or related industries.

• Proven track record in maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.

• Expertise in conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term reliability improvements.

• Familiarity with asset management systems and industry best practices.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced offshore environment, collaborating with diverse teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
