Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the ELSP (Smart Power) Business and support specifically NEMA enclosed ATS Agile Team in Distribution & Energy Management (DEM) Agile Unit and implement creative, innovative products solutions to provide value to customers, and win in the market. The work model for the role is hybrid. #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division covering three locations in Bloomfield, CT; Senatobia, MS and Mebane, NC. The candidate will start either in Bloomfield or Senatobia and stay for a year and then have the opportunity to relocate to the next location for another year until the business decides on a final permanent location after working in the three listed locations. You will be mainly accountable for: • Displaying strong leadership skills and demonstrable experience in technical fundamentals, quality, safety and compliance, and new product introduction implementation. • Perform a variety of tasks in the assigned area (e.g., mechanics, electronics, thermal, software), from concepts and requirements through design, implementation, integration, and testing, to technology transfer or maintenance and operations. • Understand the key drivers for ABB in own business/technology area in order to make judgments and contribute to results and create customer value and work to increase customer satisfaction. • Follow-up and improve activities/projects.

Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree, or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical power or similar with minimum of 5+ years' experience in development of products & its solutions in Electrical distributions.
- Experience in manufacturing implementation of new and modified designs and experience with design and product documentation, Creo and Windchill preferred.
- Expertise in product and solution level testing desired and experience on working with Global test labs and Certification agency.
- Experience with switches, transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, electrical panelboards, circuit breakers, or similar products or other Electro-Mechanical design and testing experience and knowledge of certification standards for electrical equipment (UL, IEC, IEEE)
- LEAN and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
- Up to 5% domestic travel, international maybe but rare
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
