Senior HSE Engineer (m/v/d)

to join our team in the Netherlands, location Schiphol Airport Amsterdam.

This individual contributor role requires a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems, maintain regulatory compliance, and enhance the overall HSE culture for our Field Services Team, who are working onsite of refineries, paper production sites and within offshore operations. Offices and low risk sites are also part of the responsibility

As a Senior HSE Engineer, you will actively collaborate and participate as a valued member of the country/site management team, providing strategic HSE leadership. You will offer guidance and technical support to senior management, engineers, advisors, and champions. Collaborating closely with our Regional Site Leader in Belgium, you will help ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements, while actively working to minimize the risk of potential adverse HSE events in the Belgian/Luxemburg region.

Responsibilities:

• Provide HSE assistance to implement HSE Management System programs applicable for the office and field work environment and provide HSE support to all departments.

• Liaise with HSE champions/advisors over the full range of their duties and responsibilities, with respect to inspections, reports, recommendations, changes in legislation and advice obtained from other parties.

• Leads and participates in HSE inspections, self-assessments and audits. Presents findings to management and prepares applicable reports. Tracks corrective actions to closure.

• Supports the Contract Management programs

• Develops and deploys HSE procedures, training, internal and external communications in concert with Corporate, division policy/procedures and regulatory requirements.

• Serves as liaison with third-party vendors and regulatory agencies.

Your Profile:

• Minimum Bachelors or higher degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Engineering (electrical, chemical, mechanical etc.) or equivalent diploma of Nebosh / BSC International Health and Safety

• Minimum of 5 years of working experience in the health, safety and environmental field.

• Experience working within Engineering, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Process industry.

• Minimum of 2 years' experience conducting and leading internal audits and implementing or maintaining VCA Certificate and or other HSE management systems such as ISO 45001 and 14001.

• Strong command of the Dutch and English language.

• In possession of a valid Dutch Driver's license.
