Our first focus is to develop and scale technology that measures and mitigates methane emissions in the livestock industry. Today, 1.3 billion people rely on the industry for their livelihoods and food security. However, it is the single biggest human-driven source of methane emissions globally, emitting more than both the oil & gas industry and the coal industry.

The deployment of our technologies on a global scale has the potential to drive half the global methane reduction needed by 2030, and to greatly transform the beef and dairy industries.

Job Details As Senior Mechanical Engineer at ZELP, you will provide instrumental engineering input, and play a fundamental role in the development of ZELP's technologies. This role requires specific expertise in thermal engineering and fluids experience. Your role as Senior Mechanical Engineer include:

• Breaking down complicated thermal systems into simpler models based on "first-principles" / theory
• Designing concepts/physical prototypes and robust test methods to validate theory / internal understanding
• Hands-on prototyping and building of test samples
• General concepting and ideation
• Supporting key design decision making alongside other senior and lead engineers
• Provide quality drawings and CAD for prototyping and fabrication of parts
• Producing and maintaining thorough and accurate design project documentation
• Supporting other departments (Hardware, Software, Animal Science) with problem-solving and other project activities

Experience / Proven experience with:

• Thermal engineering / heat management
• CFD / Thermal Analysis
• New product/technology concept development
• 3D CAD (Solidworks, OnShape)
• 2D drawings and concepting
• DFM
• Manufacturing methods (3D printing, CNC'ing, vacuum casting, etc.)

Has had exposure to:

• Heat exchanger design
• Hands-on testing
• Managing external suppliers
• Product data management / Engineering changes

Nice to have experience in:

• Gas sensing and sensor housing
• Fluidics / pneumatic systems
• Farm / Agriculture experience
• Consultancy
