On behalf of a major E&P operator, WRS are seeking an experienced Terminal/Tanks Jetty Preservation Technician to support the construction of a major onshore crude oil pipeline project in Tanzania. This field-based role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of terminal and tank jetty systems during the construction phase—ensuring equipment is preserved in optimal condition from delivery through to commissioning.
The positon will be working on a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 8 weeks/2 weeks at site, paying a day rate in USD.
Key Responsibilities:
On behalf of a major E&P operator, WRS are seeking an experienced Terminal/Tanks Jetty Preservation Technician to support the construction of a major onshore crude oil pipeline project in Tanzania. This field-based role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of terminal and tank jetty systems during the construction phase—ensuring equipment is preserved in optimal condition from delivery through to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and coordinate preservation activities across terminal, tank, and jetty facilities.
- Review and implement contractor preservation documentation, including QCPs, ITPs, SOPs, and WMSs.
- Monitor compliance with preservation procedures and report on performance against project KPIs.
- Inspect critical materials and installed equipment to verify preservation status and records.
- Oversee third-party preservation contractors and confirm qualifications.
- Support audits, surveillance activities, and site meetings as required.
- Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure activities align with project standards and timelines.
- 12 years of relevant experience, with at least 8 years in preservation supervision or QA/QC roles within the oil & gas sector.
- Experfiecne working for an operator
- Recognized mechanical or plant inspector certification (e.g., ASQ, AWS, API).
- Strong understanding of preservation methods for mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, ISO).
- Familiarity with construction QA/QC software and tools (e.g., SharePoint, MS Office, Adobe).
- Previous experience supporting large-scale pipeline or infrastructure construction projects.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in a multicultural, multidisciplinary environment.
