This position reports to

Production Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the material development and approval of new product projects of switchgear to ensure the process reliability, quality requirements and cost-effectiveness of batch materials. The work model for the role is: onsite. This role is contributing to the Electrification business area. You will be mainly accountable for: Material Development • Collaborate closely with R&D, production, quality, and procurement departments to ensure the smooth progress of material development • Responsible for the design for manufacturability (DFM) of materials, determine the manufacturing process and production process of materials; • Resolve technical issues encountered during material development; • Assess potential risks in the material development process and take response measures; • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure material manufacturability and production efficiency; • Cooperate with the quality department to develop the quality control process of the material to ensure that the material meets the quality requirements in the production process; • Organize and establish pre-delivery verification items for materials to ensure compliance with product design requirements; • Analyze material costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction; Material Approval • Organize and execute the material approval process to ensure materials meet design and quality requirements; • Track the entire material approval process to ensure project timelines are met • Evaluate suppliers' quality control plans.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in materials, mechanical or electrical related.
  • Industry experience, more than 3 years of working experience in material development or related fields, familiar with material development and approval process. material development experience in switchgear, machinery, automobile and other industries is preferred
  • Familiar with the performance, specifications and applications of commonly used materials.
  • Familiar with common manufacturing processes (such as injection molding, stamping, machining, etc.), understand their advantages, disadvantages and scope of application.
  • Testing ability, familiar with materials performance testing, reliability testing and other methods.
  • Cost control, with the ability of material cost analysis and optimization, and be able to propose effective cost control schemes
  • Be familiar with AutoCAD, Solidworks etc.
  • Be familiar with PLM/ ERP system
  • Be familiar with FMEA etc. quality tools.
  • Be familiar with DFM/ DFA process.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral.

  • Have good communication and cooperation skills, able to work effectively with suppliers and internal departments.
