About this Role

NorthStar Energy Services is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Pipeline Engineer to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team. This is a great opportunity to start your engineering career by working alongside a team of experienced engineers and designers on impactful Energy Projects. You'll gain hands-on experience in mechanical and pipeline engineering for Midstream Facilities while developing a strong foundation in industry practices and standards.

What You'll Do

Engineering Support
  • Assist with pipeline design tasks including line sizing calculations, pipe support layout, and basic stress evaluations under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support baseline assessments such as HCA (High Consequence Area) evaluations and Class Location Studies.
  • Learn and help perform basic Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) and bore design calculations.
  • Participate in the development and review of project schematics, PPFDs, and P&IDs.
  • Assist in conducting impact studies related to construction activities near pipeline infrastructure.
  • Support pipeline stress analysis activities and encroachment evaluations under supervision.
  • Learn to apply relevant codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8.

Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with team members to gather and interpret engineering data and assist in preparing technical documentation.
  • Help interface with external stakeholders including municipalities, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in reviewing project-related RFIs (Requests for Information) and vendor drawings.
  • Research applicable codes and company standards to support the design process.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Petroleum, or similar field).
  • 0 years of experience with either internship or co-op experience in the energy, utilities, or engineering sector OR,
  • 2-5 years of direct experience
  • Familiarity with engineering software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Interest in developing knowledge of pipeline design, stress analysis, and energy infrastructure.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • EIT designation is preferred, but not required
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
