Transportation & Installation Lead – Offshore Energy Project
Location: Qatar (70% Onshore / 30% Offshore)
Contract Duration: 36 Months
Schedule: 10 hours per day, 6 days per week (approx. 26 days per month)

Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Transportation & Installation (T&I) Lead to join a major offshore energy development in Qatar. This is a long-term role with a global operator, providing strategic oversight and leadership for the planning and execution of offshore installation activities. The position will involve significant onshore coordination, combined with offshore operational involvement.
This role is ideal for a proactive and safety-driven professional with deep technical knowledge and a solid background in subsea and offshore installation works. You will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality, safe execution in a challenging, multicultural project environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the safe and effective execution of all T&I activities, including riser installations, subsea structures, tie-ins, and associated marine operations.

Coordinate offshore operations across multiple installation vessels and ensure alignment with project execution plans.

Review and endorse engineering deliverables, work packs, risk assessments, and interface plans.

Oversee and participate in SIMOPS coordination, vessel readiness and acceptance, and marine spread mobilisation.

Drive high HSE standards and quality performance throughout all project phases.

Collaborate with engineering, planning, HSE, and operations teams to optimise installation methodologies and logistics.

Ensure compliance with international standards, project specifications, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).

Valid offshore survival certification and ability to pass offshore medical examination (OPITO certification advantageous).

Minimum 8 years of T&I execution experience in a senior or leadership role.

At least 5 years’ offshore experience on installation vessels (pipelines, risers, cables, subsea structures).

Demonstrated expertise in offshore installation operations: heavy lifts, riser stalk-on, pipeline and cable installation, load-out and marine transport.

Experience working with international offshore installation contractors.

Solid understanding of HAZOP, HAZID, and Risk Assessment methodologies.

Familiarity with international industry standards and codes of practice.
