About the Role:

Reporting to the Head, Application Development, Packaging Asia South, you are responsible to provide technical support to customers (flexible packaging area) in areas of troubleshooting, quality complaints response and resolutions, new products trials, provide technical documentations and addressing general technical queries.

Proposing and in some cases overseeing Application Development Projects (jointly with customers or internal) with the objective of identifying potential new business opportunities to expand Borouge's offerings. To play a supporting role in identifying new customer needs as inputs to new product innovation ideas that contribute towards achieving step change innovations that drive the Packaging strategy.

From a technical perspective, influence local national standards and end-user specifications to extend as being member of technical committee. Promote Packaging solutions with technical presentations to various value chain members - customers, specifier and end-users. Coordinate update of product certifications/audits per local specifications requirements, by collaborating with internal departments and external institutes.

This position is based in Delhi.

Key Accountabilities:

Industry Knowledge

• Knowledge of key product used by packaging manufacturers in SEA and ISC regions and raw material portfolios from key suppliers
• Processing technologies adopted by customers in SEA and ISC regions and key project requirements

Marketing Technical Support

• Continuously build knowledge, keeping up-to-date on the technical or procedural aspects of the job
• Assist in identifying, proposing and pursuing options for optimization of products and achieving cost efficiencies through conducting advanced analyses and product studies
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of technical solutions, processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
• Network effectively and participate pro-actively in multi-functional teams

Product and Process Knowledge

• Demonstrate understanding of processing technology, specific to flexible packaging processing
• Participate in test / or obtain tests of competitor products to compare features, pricing, quality and ease of use

Building Customer / Partner Relationships

• Support Sales function by introducing existing products to customers / partners
• Conduct meetings and presentations for existing and new customers/partners on products' technical specifications in liaison with product owners
• Further understand customers / partners requirements while proactively responding to technical queries.
• Establish value chain connection and collaboration for flexible packaging film processing machines global or domestic suppliers

About You:

• University degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent science / engineering degree
• Preferably, M.Sc. degree in Polymer Chemistry / Technology / Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5-10 years of relevant working experience
• Fluency in English
• Industry leading technical expertise in this application area
• Excellent knowledge of the market in this application area
• Proven track record in value chain understanding and influencing
