Job Title: EPC Senior Technical Engineer

Location: Atyrau, Kazakhstan (Project-Based)

Job Purpose

The Senior Technical Engineer supports the successful execution of oil and gas EPC projects in Kazakhstan by providing advanced engineering expertise and ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of all technical deliverables. This role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges, validate engineering outputs, and maintain alignment with project goals and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate technical designs, engineering specifications, and project documentation for compliance with EPC standards.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure technical alignment and resolve engineering issues.
• Ensure all engineering activities meet regulatory requirements, industry codes, and client specifications.
• Provide guidance on materials selection, equipment specifications, and construction methodologies.
• Support technical issue resolution during project execution and propose corrective action plans.
• Conduct risk assessments and contribute to mitigation planning from a technical standpoint.
• Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor technical submittals for compliance and suitability.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, studies, and reporting to support project decision-making.
• Liaise with clients and regulatory authorities to ensure engineering output meets contractual obligations.
• Mentor junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and technical growth within the team.

   

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)

   

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
• At least 3 years in a relevant EPC or Oil & Gas technical role
• GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region experience (2+ years) is advantageous

   

Knowledge and Skills

• In-depth understanding of engineering principles and technical standards in EPC environments
• Familiarity with international engineering codes (ASME, API, ISO, etc.)
• Proficient in engineering software tools relevant to mechanical, civil, or electrical disciplines
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Solid communication skills with the ability to interpret complex technical matters
• Working knowledge of SAP ERP system is preferred
• Knowledge of project safety and quality management systems
