Job Description for Specialist Engineer II Electrical
JOB PURPOSE
Both technical & procurement (expediting, quality control surveillance) responsibility of equipment /
material requisition / calculations / analysis (from technical specifications to onsite delivery) for
generic / standard equipment.
Technical responsibility of equipment / material requisitions / calculations / analysis / engineering
deliverables (from technical specifications to onsite delivery) for specific type of skid mounted /
modularized equipment / etc. with a special application.
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENTIAL LEARNINGS
B. Sc. Electrical Engineering Degree
Experience in design and execution of projects, with:
5 Years minimum of total general experience for oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or
infrastructure industries, out of which:
- 3 Years minimum of specific experience in Oil & Gas.
Good knowledge of equipment / activity.
Shop or site experience.
Robust engineering fundamentals and knowledge of calculation methods.
Knowledge of international codes and standards such as IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NFPA, UL.
Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards, procedures and specifications, including SA CMS.
Attention to detail.
Advanced use of Excel.
Fluency in English
Nice to have:
Experience in Basic, FEED and Detail engineering, conversant with workflow for developing
related deliverables and interdiscipline dependences (predecessors and successors).
Experience in ETAP power system studies.
Experience with 3Dmodelcentric projects.
Lean Six Sigma training.

ROLE DIMENSION
• Dedicated to one or several projects.
• Supervision of more junior specialist engineers.
• Autonomy on scope assigned.
• Special application and/or skid mounted / modularized equipment.
• Overall responsibility for engineering / contractual & quality control surveillance within small
requisition / standard equipment.
KEY INTERACTIONS
• Internally: Other engineering disciplines, Procurement, Planning, Proposals.
• Externally: Vendors, Clients (technical specialists, procurement team).
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensures timely and qualitative preparation of technical specifications and requisitions /
calculation notes / reports / engineering deliverables in coordination with other disciplines.
• Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by external parties / suppliers.
• Ensures proper communication with vendors and technical follow up of the orders.
• Adheres to project target and priority such as technical robustness, budget & schedule target.
• Proposes alternate for cost & schedule savings, energy savings in line with project target.
• Ensures timely reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities to the Lead Discipline
Engineer.
• Meets quality and HSE objectives of the project.
• Interfaces with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly project support functions
such as procurement and planning.
• Supports more junior engineering employees.
• For small requisition / standard equipment, acts as project manager for his requisition in
charge of technical, contractual, expediting and inspection with spot support from project /
procurement.
Support Department/Company Improvements Initiatives on tasks and processes optimization
and contribute to its achievement.
Support enhancing and maintenance activities for the department Body of Knowledge (i.e.
procedure, standards, templates, etc.).
Supports the development and continuous improvement of Company Procedures and
Standards.
Attends training sessions planned by company.
Observes HSEQ directives and recommendations.
According to organizational requirements and strategies, driven mainly by project needs, and
according to his/her technical competences, and demonstrated soft skills, can perform in the
following different roles:
- Field Engineer
- Factory inspection and/or acceptance test witness
- Material reception supervisor at field
- Staff secondment to client or partner
- Internal auditor
