Position Title: Civil Engineer
Purpose of the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Project Civil Engineer to join a dynamic and growing organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to resolve complex challenges collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, schedule, and budget parameters.

Review and verify engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using CAD software (such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D).

Conduct site investigations, technical assessments, and risk evaluations.

Ensure all designs and executed work comply with local, national, and international building codes and regulations.

Oversee construction activities to verify adherence to approved designs, technical specifications, and quality standards.

Monitor project progress, proactively identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate closely with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials and services.

Conduct regular site inspections to uphold safety protocols and ensure environmental compliance.

Verify and certify contractor payments, reviewing measurements and project execution accuracy.
Continuous Improvement:

Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, aiming for global standards, productivity gains, and cost reduction.
Reporting:

Prepare timely and accurate reports to meet internal departmental requirements and organisational quality standards.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
Minimum Experience:
-
At least 10 years of relevant experience in large organisations, including a minimum of 4 years in progressively senior roles requiring leadership and project management responsibility.
Skills and Knowledge:

Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

Good understanding of the power, energy, and water sectors and related technologies.

Proficiency in English (required); Arabic language skills considered an advantage.

Operational experience in project delivery and site management.

Ability to collaborate with senior executives, management teams, and external partners.

Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Knowledge of building codes, construction regulations, and safety standards.

Proficiency in CAD design tools (such as AutoCAD and Revit).

Familiarity with project management software (such as MS Project and Primavera).

Strong understanding of cultural dynamics within Qatar and the wider GCC region.
