Position Title: Head of Commissioning
Work Location: Onshore - Qatar

Contract Term: 36 Months (with possibility to extend)
Job Purpose:
The Head of Commissioning will manage and oversee all aspects of the commissioning disciplines supporting the EPC management teams. This role includes full responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of the EPC scope (both onshore and offshore), specifically related to 5 new Jackets, 6 new Topsides Decks, and various modifications to existing offshore structures. The role will involve close collaboration with the EPC contractor and ensuring the readiness of the project to meet all commissioning requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning Oversight:
- Manage the overall commissioning scope, minimizing offshore requirements where possible.
- Oversee systems completion and commissioning deliverables for EPC packages.
- Ensure the integration of all commissioning activities, including design verification processes and progress reporting.
- Coordinate complex internal and external interfaces, especially where simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) are involved.
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead commissioning disciplines and manage the team of 7-12 Doha-based Commissioning Discipline Leads and Supervisors.
- Ensure all commissioning processes, from mechanical completion to turnover and acceptance procedures, are adhered to.
- Provide leadership in the development of recovery plans to address any schedule delays.
- Interface with Stakeholders:
- Frequent contact with Project Management, EPC Contractors, and Subcontractors.
- Periodic engagement with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure the seamless transition of commissioning deliverables.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all activities comply with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies.
- Manage the integration of Lessons Learned and ensure they are communicated and applied to future projects.
Job Context & Major Challenges:
- Brownfield Modifications: The role will oversee complex modifications to existing offshore facilities, including pipelines, topsides, and risers.
- Decommissioning Activities: Handling decommissioning of existing pipelines and topside equipment, including managing production shutdowns aligned with the company's maintenance windows.
- Work in Various Locations: The role will involve working at multiple sites, including EPC fabrication yards, offshore platforms, and possibly jack-up barges.
- Collaborative Leadership: The position requires managing the priorities and challenges while maintaining collaboration between different stakeholders (EPC contractors, etc.).
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Maximize onshore commissioning scope and reduce offshore requirements.
- Ensure readiness and compliance for turnover and acceptance procedures.
- Lead the development of systems completion philosophy and documentation.
- Integrate commissioning deliverables from multiple EPC RFSUs into a cohesive system.
- Ensure all commissioning activities align with safety and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge & Experience:
- 10+ years in oil & gas projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role or overseeing vendors.
- Experience in managing Brownfield projects, handling SIMOPS, and decommissioning activities.
- In-depth understanding of commissioning processes and systems completion in large-scale projects, particularly within the LNG industry.
- Contract compliance knowledge, particularly in large EPC projects.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
- Ability to handle complex issues independently and guide teams towards solutions.
- Experience with start-up support to operations and knowledge of the handover process in major projects.

- Work days per month: 26 days/month
