Plant Manager

Location: Atyrau, Kazakhstan

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plant Manager to join a dynamic and growing industrial operation. This role offers the chance to oversee day-to-day production activities while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and team development. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, maintaining high-quality standards, optimising resources, and ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

The Plant Manager will play a pivotal role in maximising production output, minimising waste, maintaining financial controls, and contributing to the achievement of organisational goals through strategic planning and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily plant operations to meet production targets
• Plan, organise, direct and run optimal day-to-day operations, allocating resources efficiently
• Implement strategies aligned with organisational initiatives, providing clear focus and direction to the operations team
• Review production orders and schedules, making critical decisions to ensure on-time delivery to customers
• Monitor and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity and eliminate unnecessary processes
• Develop and implement quality control systems to maintain high product standards and reduce waste
• Analyse operational efficiency and implement corrective actions where necessary
• Prepare and deliver regular reports on plant performance to senior leadership
• Recruit, hire, and onboard new staff, ensuring teams are trained, motivated, and high-performing
• Foster a culture of safety by adhering to and promoting company safety policies and protocols
• Maintain strong communication across departments to build commitment to organisational goals
• Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality
• Build and maintain trusting relationships with employees to promote a positive and productive working environment
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to enhance plant operations
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations

   

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Business Management, or related discipline)
• Minimum 8 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Previous experience working within the GCC region is an advantage
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and lead teams
• In-depth knowledge of business management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources management
• Sound understanding of industry-standard equipment, safety, quality, productivity, and inventory processes
• Proficiency in ERP systems, ideally with SAP functional skills
• Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to analyse operational needs and implement improvements effectively
• Strong conflict-resolution, decision-making, and communication abilities
