Position Title: EPC Lead Electrical Engineer

Purpose of the Role

The Lead Electrical Engineer serves as the key discipline authority responsible for the technical delivery of all electrical engineering and design activities. This role provides leadership across electrical teams while supporting interdisciplinary coordination, project planning, and compliance throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical integrity and timely delivery of electrical engineering documentation across all project phases.
• Ensure all designs meet contractual requirements and comply with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Supervise and guide discipline-specific teams in the preparation of electrical design packages.
• Define and manage scope, budgets, schedules, and resourcing for the electrical discipline across various work areas including onshore, offshore, and processing platforms.
• Monitor progress against budgets and schedules, report deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Support procurement efforts by preparing specifications, reviewing vendor documentation, and providing technical approvals.
• Conduct or lead engineering studies to resolve complex technical challenges and propose value-added solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (construction, QA/QC, procurement, HSE, project controls) to manage discipline interfaces.
• Coordinate and participate in Engineering Assurance Audits and ensure readiness for construction documentation is prepared in line with project milestones.
• Evaluate performance of engineering staff and ensure appropriate resourcing and skill alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote discipline excellence, compliance with HSE standards, and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

   

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Experience & Background

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience in Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
• Prior involvement in projects within the GCC or similar international regions is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with electrical engineering tools such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD, and SmartPlant Electrical.
• Working knowledge of hazardous area classification, arc flash, relay coordination, and other electrical system protection methods.
• Solid understanding of load flow, short circuit studies, and power system analysis.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities in a technical environment.
