Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

Job Purpose

A leading organisation in the energy sector is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in optimising LNG facility performance, ensuring the achievement of operational goals and facilitating improvements in plant reliability, energy efficiency, and cost optimisation. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse the operational performance of LNG facilities to identify deficiencies. Recommend and implement action plans to optimise product yields, energy efficiency, and facility reliability.
• Provide technical support to the asset management team, helping them make informed decisions based on performance data and information.
• Develop and implement mass and energy balance monitoring systems for LNG facilities, identifying opportunities for hydrocarbon recovery and energy efficiency improvements.
• Lead audits and reviews of mass and energy balance reporting processes, ensuring that the methods, procedures, and systems are compliant with applicable standards.
• Perform process simulations using commercial software to verify key parameters and monitor facility performance.
• Evaluate concept selection studies to ensure that process schemes align with operational best practices and environmental safety guidelines.
• Coordinate engineering designs and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes to ensure that project-specific requirements are met.
• Analyse historical operational performance data to set benchmarks for key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance targets for LNG facilities.
• Monitor production and shutdown data to identify performance trends, advise on emerging issues, and explore opportunities for plant optimisation and debottlenecking.
• Apply internal benchmarking tools to evaluate cost efficiency (OPEX and CAPEX), identifying cost gaps and developing initiatives for improvement.
• Share lessons learned from operational facilities to enhance process design and improve future projects.
• Identify optimisation opportunities, propose alternative solutions, and reduce operational costs, while improving reliability and reducing carbon footprints.
• Provide mentoring and training to junior engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and career development in line with nationalisation and Qatarisation plans.

   

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in technical or operational roles in the oil and gas industry, with a minimum of 5 years in LNG operations.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards and codes related to Process Engineering.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (both written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently, influence decision-making, and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• In-depth process knowledge of LNG operations and the ability to manage interfaces with joint venture partners and operators effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to track and maintain compliance with governance frameworks and processes.
• Capability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural environment, resolving technical challenges across disciplines.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven team player with strong collaboration skills, fostering teamwork across departments and external organisations.
