Principal Engineer - Process Integrity & Reliability
Location: Doha, Qatar
A leading energy company is seeking a highly skilled Principal Process Engineer with significant expertise in asset integrity, life extension studies, and reliability management within the oil and gas industry. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the long-term integrity and performance of assets through the implementation of best practices in asset integrity, process safety, and technical assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of asset integrity management (AIM) programs to safeguard long-term asset performance and reliability.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to asset integrity, maintenance, and reliability, ensuring industry-leading performance and operational excellence.
- Conduct audits, assessments, and third-party studies to evaluate asset condition, health, and integrity, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
- Guide technical programs and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to support asset management strategies and continuous performance improvement.
- Support the development of life extension studies, providing techno-economic analyses to inform decisions on whether to extend asset life or decommission assets.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, driving improvements in asset integrity and maintenance performance.
- Coordinate the standardization of technical assessment processes, reporting requirements, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for consistency across the portfolio.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in asset integrity management within the energy industry, with a strong focus on oil and gas facilities.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of asset integrity principles, risk assessment methodologies, and reliability engineering practices.
- Industry Standards: Proficiency in regulatory codes and standards such as API, ASME, and NACE.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple workstreams and projects simultaneously.
- Software Tools: Experience with asset management software and data analysis tools to assess and optimize asset performance.
