Job Title: Scaffolding Supervisor
Location: China / Qatar (candidates must be open to assignment in either location, as required by the project)

End Date: 28-Feb-2028 (with possibility of extension)
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Scaffolding Supervisor to oversee all scaffolding erection and dismantling operations on a major offshore topsides construction project. The role is based at an international fabrication yard and may require rotation between China and Qatar during project execution.
This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting the safe and timely delivery of complex offshore infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise contractor scaffolding activities and ensure safe execution in line with international standards.
- Review and verify scaffold designs and structural calculations.
- Conduct inspections of erected scaffolds and assess compliance with safety and engineering requirements.
- Ensure appropriate certification and documentation of all scaffolding structures.
- Monitor scaffolding material condition and ensure rejection of substandard components.
- Provide technical advice on complex scaffold builds, including suspended and aerial scaffolds.
- Calculate and verify counterweights for heavy-duty suspended scaffolds.
- Assess contractor personnel for competency and ensure adequate resources are available.
- Monitor daily and weekly scaffolding work schedules and highlight risks to delivery.
- Liaise with other supervision and project functions to ensure effective coordination.
- Promote a strong safety culture and compliance with HSE standards and policies.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher in a relevant technical field (or equivalent experience).
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolding Inspector Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Minimum 12 years' professional experience in scaffolding, including 10 years on major construction projects.
- Strong background in offshore topsides and jackets fabrication.
- Knowledge of international standards such as BS EN 12811-1:2003, BS1139, OSHA 3150, and AS 4576.
- Ability to interpret scaffold drawings and perform technical reviews.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills, with a proactive team-oriented approach.
- Experience in multicultural project environments.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Email).
- Fluency in English and Mandarin required.
