We are currently seeking a Principal Process Engineer, reporting directly to Head of Process and HSE Design to join our Engineering team based in Belgium & France.
About the role:
Delivery of technically and qualitatively Process and HSED engineering design and support within proposals, studies, projects execution and technology development, in accordance with design and engineering standards and regulations, procedures, schedules and budget, with a continuous focus on quality standards, targets and customer satisfaction in Green hydrogen and power to X technologies.
Starting Date: June 2025
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Support and Project Execution
- Provide technical support and advice for project execution and product development.
- Supervise process design during projects (especially FEED and EPC phases) by:
- Approving design criteria and methodologies.
- Collecting feedback for continuous improvement.
2. Sales and Product Development
- Support sales strategies by developing innovative solutions aligned with customer needs.
- Ensure alignment of process engineering activities with product development goals.
3. Process and Safety Engineering
- Optimize engineering analysis and solutions produced by process engineering teams.
- Ensure the quality, schedule, and cost of process and safety engineering activities, including:
- Development of P&IDs and associated lists.
- Generation of functional descriptions of products and associated deliverables.
- Coordination of ATEX Zoning reports.
- Coordination of HAZOP/LOPA studies and issuing residual risk lists.
- Safety concept development, fire water unit design, effluent lists, and RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) studies.
- Long-term risk quantification, safety concepts, fire and gas systems, and escape planning.
4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Analyze client technical specifications and perform gap analyses between project requirements and product capabilities.
- Participate in design reviews and implement action plans to address findings.
- Liaise with other process disciplines, engineering departments, design teams, clients, and licensors.
5. Quality Assurance and Approvals
- Check and/or approve all process deliverables as defined by the approval procedure.
- Approve pre-commissioning, commissioning procedures, and operating manuals as required.
6. Training and Development
- Develop and mentor process engineers by providing training and coaching.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices through feedback and lessons learned.
7. Knowledge Management and Innovation
- Participate in project close-outs and produce close-out reports, focusing on lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development of a process knowledge database by capturing events, experiences, and writing technical notes.
- Stay updated on technological and normative developments through monitoring and feedback processes.
8. Industry Representation
- Promote the technological image of the company by:
- Liaising with internal and external counterparts, clients, and licensors.
- Publishing papers and contributing to industry discussions.

About you:

- University chemical engineering master degree
- At least 8 years Experience in Process and experiences in FEED / EPC.
- Fluency in English
- Strong project management skills
- Significant experience of team supervision and/or coordination
- Good management and organizational skills
- Knowledge in Risk Analysis (Hazop / LOPA reviews),
- Available for temporary abroad missions, sometimes on short notice, including international travel
- Taste for change and agile
