This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PMC Lead Contracts Engineer with a proven track record in overseeing the preparation, negotiation, and management of contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance standards for a high - profile client.

The key objectives for this role are:
  • Drafting and managing detailed, clear, and compliant contracts to support project requirements.
  • Leading discussions with vendors, contractors, and clients to secure favorable terms and maintain good relationships.
  • Identifying potential contractual risks and developing strategies to minimize them.
  • Ensuring all contractual activities comply with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Tracking contract execution to ensure deliverables meet quality, budgetary, and timeline expectations.
  • Handling disputes and conflicts related to contractual terms effectively and professionally.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external parties to align contract strategies with overall project objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviors.
  • Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity
  • Champion and promote the application of the Financial Management Framework guidelines.
  • Champion and follow the relevant DOA and commercial / contracting policies

Assists, supports, and delivers, under limited supervision:

Functional activities within the assigned business(es) including drafting, review, and negotiation of:
  • Confidentiality agreements / NDAs in accordance with business needs
  • Client contracts (bespoke and standard forms) including project-specific contracts and MSAs.
  • Drafting and review of financial instruments (Bonds / Letters of Credit, PCGs, Collateral Warranties)
  • MOUs and exclusive arrangements all in accordance with Wood's group-wide policies and approval processes.
  • Review proposed contract qualifications with other functions, as required, to ensure the balance of risk is appropriate for the associated services and remuneration mode.
  • Negotiation of contractual terms with clients
  • Providing overviews of contract T&Cs and associated issues to senior management and execution teams, as applicable
  • The provision of specific contracts related inputs to the Tender Governance Process
  • Identification of contractual risks for inclusion in the risk management process
  • Draft and develop prime contract flow-down terms to be incorporated into purchase orders and subcontracts, in conjunction with Supply Chain and other functions, as required.
  • The provision of contractual interpretation advice, as required.
  • Assisting with the timely provision of commercial deliverables (e.g. bonds, PCGs, evidence of insurance) in accordance with contract requirements and Wood Policies.
  • Provision of contractual inputs to Commercial Handovers, including mitigations and actions required by Contracting Policy approvals.

Assists and supports under supervision:
  • Preparation, negotiation establishment, and administration of Joint Venture and/or Partnering agreements.
  • Alignment of contractual terms, including management of change, with the associated contract remuneration model
  • The pursuit of Wood's assertive claims and/or defending claims against Wood including, as required.
  • Participation in Wood in industry-wide contracts initiatives and workgroups (e.g. Oil and Gas UK or equivalent) under the supervision of their manager.
  • Subcontract formation and main contract flow-downs in conjunction with other functions, as required.

Expected:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering (or similar)


  • Minimum 20 years' working experience on Oil and Gas projects


  • Project contracts experience


  • Direct contracts on a global basis


  • Ability to prepare negotiation strategies / techniques and participate / lead negotiations


  • Good knowledge of project contracts execution (start to finish)
