JOB DESCRIPTION

NOV ELMAR is the global leader in the design and manufacture of wireline intervention products for slickline and electric line applications and is a subsidiary company of NOV with its main office in Houston, Texas. NOV ELMAR, located in Kintore, Scotland currently has a fulltime opening in its Engineering Office for a Design Engineer. We deliver innovative engineering designs and solutions to meet our customers' needs.

As a Graduate Design Engineer, you'll be an integral part of a dynamic team, contributing to the development of cutting-edge engineering solutions. You'll work on a variety of projects, ranging from high-volume manufacturing to bespoke, one-off designs. This is an ideal opportunity to build a solid foundation in engineering, gain hands-on experience, and grow within a company that values innovation and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop engineering drawings, calculations, and reports to meet project deadlines.
• Assist in the design, testing, and delivery of both standard and custom-built products.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, and clients.
• Review and issue engineering documentation with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Provide technical support and contribute to problem-solving across departments.
• Support testing and validation activities to ensure product performance.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts and suggest innovative ideas.
• Manage tasks effectively, maintaining clear communication on progress and issues.
• Participate in administrative duties to support the engineering department.
• Take ownership of your professional development through training and mentoring.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

• Engineering degree or HND with 2+ years of relevant experience
• Strong technical skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamworking abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Master's degree in engineering
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD) and FEA tools
