AtkinsRéalis is seeking a proactive and process-driven Lean Engineer to support the application of Lean Construction principles across a Roads and Infrastructure Project. The ideal candidate will lead efforts to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance collaboration between the supervision team and contractor through the use of Lean tools, performance tracking, and continuous improvement practices.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 7+ years of experience, including at least 3 years applying Lean methodologies in infrastructure or construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of Lean Construction principles on-site, in line with AtkinsRéalis and the client improvement objectives.
  • Facilitate Last Planner System (LPS) planning sessions with supervision and contractor teams to align short-term activities with master programme milestones.
  • Identify process inefficiencies in project delivery and propose waste reduction measures (e.g., overproduction, rework, waiting, excess motion).
  • Develop and track visual performance management dashboards, KPIs, and takt-time planning metrics.
  • Train project team members and site staff on Lean tools such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Value Stream Mapping, and A3 problem-solving.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement workshops, capture lessons learned and prepare related reports.
  • Collaborate with planning engineers to improve weekly work planning, constraints removal, and workflow reliability.
  • Ensure documentation of Lean initiatives and performance is integrated into the client reporting where applicable.
  • Coordinate with BIM, digital delivery, and quality teams for cross-functional process alignment.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years total experience, with at least 3 in Lean implementation in construction/infrastructure projects in Qatar.
  • Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green/Black Belt), Lean Construction Institute (LCI) training.
  • Grade A UPDA is a plus.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
  • Skilled in MS Excel, Power BI, Lean planning tools, and visual management software (optional: Primavera P6, BIM 360).
