System One is actively seeking a Civil Site Engineer to support large-scale wind projects near Siebert, CO.

This will be a 12-month project providing per diem to qualified candidates.

Project Overview includes Large Projects near Siebert, CO; Two large wind facilities, which have started construction.

Civil Engineer Requirements:
  • Responsible for providing civil expertise, with a focus on evaluating project drawings and handling requests for information (RFIs) across multiple projects.
  • Submittals and RFI's will focus on collaborating with other engineers and project stakeholders to ensure all requirements are clearly outlined.
  • Typical submittal activities include evaluating drawings, studies, and analyses.
  • These activities will involve reviewing the technical documentation to confirm that everything aligns with the project specifications and requirements.
  • For construction activities, the day will be more in-person, assisting team members by addressing any civil engineering-related questions they may have about the project.
  • This could include clarifying details about the design or construction process and troubleshooting any issues that arise on-site. The overall responsibilities will vary from planning/reviewing to providing direct support during the construction.
  • This resource will work with our other engineers on the project to be able to understand/interpret design drawings and managing the compliance of the construction to the design drawings and managing RFI requests.
  • Will be supporting a multifunctional group that includes various internal business units and external stakeholders.
  • Primarily collaborate with facility operations and other internal departments, such as Siting and Land Rights: To coordinate on land-use matters, especially for projects involving land development, such as wind installations in addition to Environmental Teams: Due to the nature of moving earth and other environmental impacts, collaboration will be necessary to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Some of the Key Players will be Internal Stakeholders: Facility operations, siting and land rights, environmental teams, and other project engineers and External Entities such as County and State Agencies: Assisting with obtaining local and state permits for large construction projects and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
  • Role involves a mix of technical collaboration and regulatory coordination with both internal and external teams.
  • Will work with EPC contractors in addition to a Project specific team consisting of project manager and engineers, construction field team, construction managers, and construction/civil inspectors.
  • Will be working with the Project controls cost/scheduling staff.

Civil Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited school
  • Professional Engineering license, or Engineering in Training/certification to become a professional engineer preferred.
  • 9+ years of civil engineering experience with 2-3 years specifically in the renewable generation project space (construction or engineering design).
  • Must have 2-3 years renewable generation project experience and should be willing/able to travel to the site.
  • Should have knowledge of how to resolve RFI's and non-conformance requests.
  • Familiarity with ProjectWise, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Procore would be helpful to review EPC contractors' drawings (technical review communication tool). SAP might be a plus.
  • Former experience working with utilities or design firms on renewable technologies.
  • Should have very strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong analytical undefined skills to resolve answering questions, troubleshooting design conflicts, etc.
  • Organization is key in this role as they will be interfacing with several different teams, tracking and documenting.
  • Knowledge of/familiarity with NCRs, RFIs, and the ability to understand and manage the scope of a contract.
  • Strong team player with experience preferably in a large matrixed organization which would show proof of the ability to work cross functionally.
  • Detail oriented, strong communication skills, and strong troubleshooting skills to resolve design issues that may come up as the project progresses.

Project Location: Siebert, CO

Contract Duration: 12-Months

Pay Rate Range: $88.00 - $90.00
