About the opportunity we offer:

Report directly to the Subcontracting Manager, overseeing comprehensive subcontracting activities throughout the project lifecycle. This critical role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and strong relationship management skills to ensure successful project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Subcontract Administration
  • Administer and manage a portfolio of designated subcontracts, with particular focus on pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities
  • Execute the established subcontract close-out process, including final documentation, warranty collection, and as-built drawings verification.
  • Process final payments and facilitate retention releases in accordance with contract terms
  • Coordinate the resolution of outstanding claims, variations, and change orders
  • Verify completion of punch list items and outstanding work packages
  • Oversee subcontractor demobilization processes to ensure smooth project transitions

Commercial and Claims Management
  • Analyze and process subcontractor claims and disputes, ensuring thorough examination and timely resolution
  • Administer formal dispute resolution proceedings when necessary
  • Handle ad-hoc contractual issues with strategic problem-solving approach
  • Collaborate with the Subcontract Manager to identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks

Communication and Coordination
  • Liaise with cross-functional departments to gather necessary inputs and develop comprehensive formal communication
  • Ensure all stakeholder communications are addressed within established deadlines
  • Prepare detailed reports, analyses, and presentations related to assigned subcontracts
  • Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders

About you:

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Law, Engineering, or related field
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in contract management, legal studies, or project management (e.g., CCM, PMP, ICCPM) are a plus

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in subcontract engineering or contract administration, preferably in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex subcontracts from initiation through close-out
  • Proven track record in claims management and dispute resolution

Skills and Competencies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; professional proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable
  • Strong legal acumen with in-depth experience in construction agreements
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills with ability to handle competing priorities
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction project management methodologies and best practices

  • This role is fill-time site based and may require coordination across different time zones
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment with diverse stakeholders
