What you will be doing
The Lifecycle Engineer - In-Service PWR will support the Assistant Chief Engineer to define, direct and support technical activities across PWR1 and PWR2 product scope, necessary to ensure that the Submarine flotilla nuclear propulsion plants remain available and safe to operate in accordance with customers' requirements.

You will provide world-class technical support for our in-service products and to influence maturity throughout the product life cycle to meet customer and business needs, ensuring Design Intent is met.

Responsibilities
You will provide world-class technical support for our in-service products and to influence maturity throughout the product life cycle to meet customer and business needs, ensuring Design Intent is met.
Your day-to-day responsibilities within the role will cover:
- Provide technical support to help resolve technical queries and operational arisings Lead Investigation of operational issues to establish root cause Introduce containment actions and recommend corrective actions
- Support the development of the technical content of technical publications/communications (used by OEM, build/commissioning/maintenance bases and customers)
- Identify cost reduction opportunities by reviewing and maintaining life cycle engineering policies and any associated maintenance planning documentation.
- Manage any issues that effect the Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability and Maintainability and maintain Design Intent
- Support the management of lifecycle technical data (build/in-service/decomisioning), including modelling of through life performance and deterioration, to identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Prepare and deliver technical communications (e.g. presentation and/or reports) to platform provider, regulators, customers, internal stakeholder.
- Ensure compliance with requirements specified by regulatory authorities and to adhere to technical and business requirements of internal & external stakeholders. Where delegated, act as the Technical Authority providing assurance on build, commissioning and maintenance activities.
- Gather in-service data and carry out continuous improvement by identifying Best Practice and Learning from Experience activities, feeding back into future programmes and product design teams.

- Engineering or Numerical degree (or equivalent with experience)
- Knowledge of PWR components/ systems functionality
- Experience of working on complex tasks that are novel and ambiguous, including troubleshooting and/or problem resolution
- Familiarity of the in service operation environment, including regulatory and compliance requirements
- Experience in support/lead cross-functional teams e.g. specialists, suppliers, customers, partners
