DISCIPLINE ENGINEER – QUALITY is required by our Client in Oil and Gas industry, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Trinidad and Tobago.

POSITION SCOPE:

The Quality Engineer will provide comprehensive Quality Assurance and Quality Control services across our clients' portfolio of activities, including turnarounds, campaigns, maintenance, engineering, and projects. The role ensures quality compliance for all works on or related to the clients' facilities and supports continuous improvement of quality management practices in alignment with regulatory standards and corporate objectives

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in punch list, mechanical completion, and PSSR walkdowns to verify works are completed in accordance with design specifications prior to start-up.
  • Support the development and implementation of a Quality Management Framework for turnarounds and campaigns.
  • Develop turnaround-specific quality assurance plans based on the approved job list, ensuring quality oversight from planning through execution.
  • Assist in the development of quality requirements based on the Scope of Work (SOW) for inclusion in Invitation to Bid (ITB) documentation.
  • Contribute to the creation of Quality KPIs for Contractors, supporting performance measurement and continuous improvement.
  • Review contractor quality documentation, including Quality Plans, ITPs, procedures, certifications, and inspection reports for compliance with project and corporate standards.
  • Support alignment of Contractor quality management systems with the clients QA/QC expectations.
  • Review maintenance work packages for quality, accuracy, and readiness.
  • Facilitate the development and update of quality requirements and quality tracker tools for tracking and reporting mechanical completions.
  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of quality-related content for OSCAR (Operational Safety and Compliance Assurance Reviews) and VAR (Value Assurance Reviews).
  • Provide regular updates to rundown plans, ensuring integration of quality milestones and deliverables across the project lifecycle.
  • Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold quality standards and resolve non-conformances.
  • Monitor and measure quality performance against approved QA/QC methodologies.
  • Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits at on-site and approved off-site locations, verifying adherence to approved quality control measures.
  • Support the ongoing review and enhancement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with best practices and operational learnings.


EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years' experience in QA/QC roles within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, API, ASME, AWS).
  • Familiarity with turnaround execution, maintenance systems, and project lifecycle quality requirements.
  • Certification in quality management or inspection disciplines (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor, CSWIP, API 510/570/653) is an asset.
  • Strong documentation, auditing, and reporting skills with proven ability to manage QA/QC deliverables across multiple teams and vendors.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and QA/QC tracking tools; experience with quality modules in CMMS or project management systems is a plus.
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Trinidad and Tobago without requiring a work permit.
