Job Description

Are you a junior engineer or project coordinator looking to expand your knowledge, skills and opportunities? If you answered yes, please consider applying for Candu's Site Rotation Program for Junior Engineers and Project Coordinators.

Last year, our first offering placed 10 recent engineering graduates at the Darlington Nuclear Plant, supporting our Darlington Retube and Feeder Replacement program. This group gained hands-on experience in the installation of Calandria tubes, Fuel Channels and Feeders, as well as an understanding of general plant modifications. They are now moving into dedicated roles across our business.

This year, our second site rotation opportunities will focus on Pickering site work, and our support to Bruce Power, through our Shoreline Joint Venture. We are looking for a total of six junior engineers and coordinators, five to be deployed to Pickering and one to be deployed to the Shoreline site at Bruce Power.

Program Overview

The Site Rotation Program will allow participants to rotate between different project sites every twelve months. This rotation will enable them to gain hands-on experience in different environments, work with varied teams, and tackle unique challenges. By the end of the program, participants will have a well-rounded perspective on our operations, project and be better equipped to contribute to our success.

Benefits of the program
  • Skill Enhancement. Exposure to different projects will help participants develop a versatile skill set, making them more adaptable and proficient in their roles.
  • Networking Opportunities. Rotating between sites will allow participants to build relationships with colleagues across the organization, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Career Growth. The diverse experiences gained through the program will prepare participants for future leadership roles within the company.
  • Increased Engagement. Working in varied environments will keep participants motivated and engaged, leading to higher job satisfaction.

Requirements for applicants
  • Applicants must be a recent hire (less than two years with the company) in a junior engineering or coordination role
  • Applicants must be able to commit to a minimum one-year placement on the project and report to work at the site office Monday to Friday. Travel and assignment living allowances will be provided for eligible applicants.
  • Applicants must be security cleared for the nuclear facility in question. The successful applicants will be processed through the standard site access security clearance process.

We believe the Site Rotation Program is a valuable addition to our professional development initiatives. By providing our team members with diverse experiences and opportunities for growth, we are investing in the future success of you, your career and our company. We encourage all eligible employees to apply and take advantage of this exciting opportunity.
