As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be a part of the High Performance Control Room (HPCR) group which provides fully engineered High Performance Operator HMI and Alarm Management systems and software for Power & Water Utilities in North America that follow global Alarm annunciation, Graphics standards like EEMUA and ANSI 18.1. The solutions are generally engineered on Emerson's best in class Ovation Distributed Control System (DCS). The HPCR group provides all aspects of project management, engineering design, factory acceptance test, and commissioning services to deliver comprehensive solutions to our customers.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Working within a collaborative team to lead and support the design of operators display graphics
  • Designing sophisticated alarm graphics
  • Analyzing data interrogation and statistical data to mitigate historical alarm performance
  • Serving as a primary point of contact with our customers, supporting and leading consultative workshops with customer operations staff to facilitate transformation and adaptation towards human performance factors
  • Supporting the integration, testing, and deployment of HPCR design materials within the Ovation control system
  • Providing suggestions for improvements of products or processes
  • Effectively meeting schedules and commitments
  • Developing and maintaining key customer relationships


Who You Are:

You anticipate customer needs and provide services that are beyond customer expectations. You adjust communication to fit the audience and the message. You identify and seize new opportunities.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, technical field, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in plant control and/or alarm systems
  • Ability to present to groups varying in size
  • Knowledge of process or power plant operations
  • Willing and able to travel up to 40% in North America
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with operator and alarm display standards, such as ANSI/ISA 18.2, ANSI/ISA 101.01, IEC 63303, a plus
  • Prior experience with Emerson Ovation or other control systems
  • Previous client facing experience
