About the Role:

Chief of Staff to the Chairman and CEO, Northern CA HQ.

The Chief of Staff at MARS Energy Group is a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, responsible for driving execution, alignment, and operational excellence across the organization. Operating at the intersection of strategy and operations, this role is key to advancing high-priority initiatives and scaling our fast-growing, multi-division solar energy platform.

This leader will act as an organizational integrator-ensuring effective cross-functional collaboration, clear communication, and efficient resource allocation. They will also support executive decision-making through performance analysis, insights, and planning.

The ideal candidate brings a sharp business mindset, thrives in dynamic environments, and helps foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the construction and energy space. This is a high-impact role designed to amplify the CEO's reach, streamline execution, and help position MARS Energy Group for long-term growth.

Compensation:
  • Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus + potential for long-term incentive opportunity

Qualifications:
  • 2-5+ years of experience in high-growth environments such as management consulting, investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy, or similar
  • Proven project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Strong financial literacy and comfort with Board-level financial reporting and KPIs
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • High EQ and ability to build trust with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the CEO on strategy, operations, M&A, capital markets, and growth planning.
  • Lead preparation for Board meetings, investor updates, and executive offsites.
  • Drive key initiatives from concept through execution across all divisions.
  • Support development of quarterly/annual OKRs and ensure progress tracking and alignment.
  • Partner with division leaders to improve cross-functional coordination, reporting, and execution.
  • Build and maintain internal dashboards and KPIs for the CEO to track business performance and strategic priorities.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and proactively propose solutions.
  • Support adoption and optimization of enterprise systems (NetSuite, CRM, proprietary platforms) to drive actionable insights.
  • Own internal and external CEO communications (Board materials, investor memos, internal updates, leadership communications).
  • Serve as liaison between CEO and senior leadership to ensure clarity, alignment, and accountability.
  • Coordinate key external relationships (investors, partners, legal counsel, financing parties) on behalf of the CEO.
  • Lead special projects and M&A integration efforts assigned by the CEO.
  • Drive research and diligence on new markets, business lines, and acquisition opportunities (supporting Project Nova and broader M&A roadmap).
  • Support talent strategy, leadership development, and organizational design across the platform.

Skills:

The required skills for this role include strong leadership and project management abilities, which will be utilized daily to guide teams and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively liaising between departments and conveying important information to the executive team. Analytical skills will be employed to assess performance metrics and generate actionable insights that drive strategic decisions. Additionally, proficiency in organizational skills will help in managing multiple priorities and facilitating smooth operations across the company. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with construction management software, will enhance the efficiency of project tracking and reporting processes.
