Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as a Northeastern Junior College Renewable Energy Faculty. The NJC Renewable Energy faculty will work as part of a team to prepare students for careers in renewable energy to include industrial automation and its applicability to renewable energy sources. Students who complete the program will be prepared to serve in the renewable energy field, although the industrial automation knowledge opens other fields. The position may require instruction from a mobile learning lab and associated travel to training sites. Faculty members create positive and active learning environments in their classrooms and laboratories.

This is a faculty position with a typical contract of 163 workdays per year. First year faculty may require additional training days prior to the start of the semester. The salary range is $54,500-$60,600 depending on qualifications and experience. Competitive fringe benefit package available which includes medical, dental, life, PERA Retirement Plan, 11 paid holidays, and several optional benefits. Position to begin in August 2025.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide effective classroom instruction as measured by the student success and persistence rates. Faculty members must demonstrate ability to inspire students to learn. This, perhaps, is the instructor's most important responsibility.
- Develop curriculum such as demonstrations, tests, homework, and shop work for industrial automation and renewable energy.
- Assist fellow instructors in the supervision and management of the industrial automation and renewable energy labs and shops, including safety oversight and mentoring students to be professionals.
- Accept certain other duties as required by the state of Colorado and Northeastern Junior College. These include academic advising, committee work, and campus participation beyond the classroom (sponsoring activities/groups, student clubs, etc.).
- Serve as an academic advisor, including becoming familiar with the NJC academic advising philosophy, programs, graduation requirements, college services, processes, procedures, placement scores and other placement methods, transferability of courses, and career opportunities.
- Recruit potential students and industry partners to support post-college employment.
What You Will Need:
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills regarding renewable energy which include:
- Experience with OSHA energy isolation and mitigation requirements
- Experience with at-height rescue procedures commonly used in wind and similar industries
- Experience with electrical schematics and print reading
- Experience with preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment
- Experience with laser alignment of wind turbine generators
- Experience with the operation, repair, maintenance, and alignment of mechanical power transmission systems involving gears, belts, chains, and or direct couplers
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing PLC controlled electrical systems
- Experience with a variety of test equipment, including but not limited to, digital multi-meter, amp clamp, insulation resistance meter, and oscilloscope
- Experience with preventative maintenance and repair of hydraulic systems used in wind or industrial systems
- Appropriate computer skills required in word processing, PowerPoint, & Excel spreadsheets
What We Require:
- Associate degree in a technical field
- Must qualify for a Colorado Career and Technical Education Credential - (must be able to document a minimum of 4,000 hours of paid work experience in power generation and/or industrial maintenance in the last 7 years)
- Valid driver's license
