This Position reports to:
Drives & Motors Service Operations Mgr

ABB Motion provides pioneering technology, products, solutions and related services to industrial customers to increase energy efficiency, improve safety and reliability, and maintain precise control over processes. The portfolio includes motors, generators and drives for a wide range of applications in all industrial sectors.

Your Role: Own the Challenge
  • Diagnose, repair, and occasionally perform preventative maintenance on low voltage drives to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates for repairs, including parts and labor, and clearly communicate procedures and pricing to customers while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Maintain detailed records of all service activities and ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Work primarily in a workshop setting with occasional travel to industrial and commercial customer sites.
  • Execute repairs according to customer expectations, identify opportunities for product improvements, and report potential sales leads internally.
  • Coordinate and ensure the availability and quality of all necessary materials, parts, and equipment for service and repair tasks.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, recommend preventive measures, and suggest improvements to enhance operations and customer service.
  • Follow safety and environmental protocols, report unsafe practices or incidents, and uphold ABB's standards of integrity.

What it takes to Run what runs the world
  • Technical diploma or certification in electronics or a related electro-technical field is preferred, along with relevant certifications in low voltage systems or electronics.
  • Proven experience in repairing and maintaining low voltage drives or similar equipment, with additional experience in customer-facing roles or field service positions.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, proficiency with repair tools and equipment, and the ability to write reports and communicate effectively in English with customers and team members.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 35 lbs (15 kg), working in various environments, and traveling occasionally to local customer sites as required.
