EngineeringWe are looking for an Offshore Scaffolder for one of our clients with the following details:
Location: Doha, Qatar
Start Date: ASAP
Duration of Assignment: Direct Hire - permanent position
Rotation cycle: 48 days on 48 days off - working schedule will be communicated later.
Qualification and Experience Required:
- CISRS Level 2 Card - Part 1 and Part 2 competent (Tube & Fitting and System).
- TBOISET / TFOET
- OPITO Control of Work for Performing Authorities
- OPITO Confined Space Awareness
- OPITO Gas Monitor
- COMPANY Fire Watch Training
- H2S Certification
- Fitness for Work (Offshore) Certificate
- SET Test Result - A2 or above
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience with all aspects of scaffolding tasks, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Minimum 6 months offshore experience.
Knowledge / Technical Skills
- Technical and practical knowledge of Mandatory and Additional PPE for over-water operations.
- Understanding of personnel safety in offshore environments with live plant and scaffold operations.
- Understanding of process safety in live offshore plants or onshore refineries.
- High level of physical fitness; able and comfortable working at heights and over water.
- Ability to understand and interpret instructions from Scaffold Chargehand (CH), Foreman (FM), or Supervisor regarding scaffold types to be erected.
Technical and practical knowledge of various scaffolding constructions, such as:
- Independent
- Hanger
- Birdcage
- Load Bearing Design
Responsibilities:
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)
- Promote an incident-free environment by fostering a strong safety culture.
- Support the development and execution of safe work processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure process and operational safety.
- Supervise activities to ensure compliance with health, safety (occupational & process), and environmental procedures.
- Ensure legislative compliance and responsible environmental practices.
Main Role & Deliverables
- Take direction from Contractor Scaffold Chargehand, Foreman, and/or Supervisor.
- Maintain stock levels of compliant scaffolding materials; identify and report shortfalls.
- Understand deliverables listed on Risk Assessments and Permit to Work (PTW).
- Ensure all Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and PTW documentation are signed.
- Confirm barrier management is in place before starting tasks.
- Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good condition, service fittings regularly.
- Report any untagged scaffolding to Chargehand, Foreman, or Supervisor.
- Ensure safe working practices during scaffold erection and dismantling.
Strategic Planning & Direction
- Interface with Contractor Chargehand, Foreman, or Scaffold Supervisor.
- Do not deviate from planned work unless instructed by Scaffold Supervisory Personnel.
People Management
- Lead by example in wearing mandatory HSE PPE and ensuring team compliance.
- Promote a safe, caring, and harmonious work culture.
- Ensure scaffold team wears mandatory and task-specific PPE.
- Encourage participation in COMPANY Safety Observations, Good Practices, and reporting Unsafe Acts/Conditions.
- Uphold COMPANY values and leadership behaviours.
