Within Vestas MED, the Romanian Service department oversees service of wind turbines across Romania. Our primary goals is to ensure all activities are completed safely, within budget, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Our HSE Excellence team consists of around seven highly motivated specialists. You could be one of them.
Responsibilities
HSE Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement the HSE strategy for the department
- Oversee HSE risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies for all project phases
- Ensure alignment with international, local, and company-specific health, strategy and environmental regulations and standards
- Provide specialized advice to project management on all HSE-related matters
- Lead the Service department towards zero accidents in commissioning and service operations
- Support Service in developing a safe working environment
- Ensure HSE awareness improvement in all work phases
- Ensure that HSE goals and targets are met
- Ensure that all legal and group requirements are met
- Ensure clients awareness and liaison on HSE matters
HSE Compliance and Auditing:
- Monitor, evaluate, and audit work activities to ensure compliance with HSE policies and regulatory requirements
- Review and update risk assessments, safety plans, and emergency response procedures
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and reviews of all site activities, ensuring all corrective actions are taken
Training and Development:
- Develop, implement, and deliver HSE training programs for operational personnel, including contractors and subcontractors, if applicable
- Ensure all team members are adequately trained in safety protocols, emergency procedures, and HSE best practices
- Promote a safety culture and ensure continuous improvement in HSE performance
Incident Management and Reporting:
- Conduct investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses; identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare and submit HSE reports, incident logs, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures
Risk Management:
- Manage and mitigate health, safety, and environmental risks associated with offshore/ onshore wind turbine construction, installation, operation, and decommissioning
- Ensure that all service technicians are equipped with appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safety tools
- Monitor and report on environmental impacts, ensuring that the project adheres to environmental protection laws
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, project stakeholders, contractors, and local authorities to ensure HSE compliance and address any concerns
- Participate in project meetings and provide input regarding safety and environmental considerations
Continuous Improvement:
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance, conducting regular audits, reviews, and assessments to identify areas for improvement
- Participate in industry forums and training to stay updated with the latest HSE trends, technology, and regulatory changes in offshore wind energy
Qualifications
To be considered, you should have:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management, specifically in wind energy, marine, oil & gas, or similar energy-related industries
- Extensive experience in managing HSE in large-scale wind projects, including WTG pre-installation, installation, and commissioning is beneficial
- Training course in work security & health domain with an attendance of min 80 hours (RO: Inspector in domeniul securitatii si sanatatii in munca - nivel mediu 80 de ore)
- Graduation with diploma /certification of a postgraduate program in work security & health domain with an attendance of min 180 hours (RO: Evaluator de risc in securitate si sanatate in munca - 180 de ore)
- Training course in fire safety (RO: Cadru Tehnic PSI)
- Training course in civil protection (RO: Inspector protectie civila)
- HSE Auditing, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is an added value.
