A globally operating maritime transport company, specialized in heavy-lift and oversized cargo logistics, is looking to strengthen its Tender Department with a skilled Proposal Engineer.

Function description

As a Proposal Engineer, you'll support the Technical Sales Team in managing bids for lifting, securing, and transporting complex cargo using both owned and chartered vessels. You'll apply your in-depth knowledge of heavy-lift operations to evaluate project feasibility during the inquiry stage. Working with limited data, tight timelines, and diverse requirements, your adaptability and determination will be key. You'll independently conduct feasibility studies and collaborate closely with our client's global commercial team to craft compelling proposals.

This is a dynamic and challenging position where no two projects are the same. Your ability to design safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions will have a direct impact on our client's success.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering deliverables for tenders and inquiries, including drawings, calculations, and reports.
• Evaluate the feasibility of lifting and transport operations, identifying necessary equipment and methods.
• Optimize stowage plans to accommodate additional cargo.
• Develop cost estimates for engineering hours, mobilization, and equipment.
• Work closely with engineering, commercial, and operations teams to create competitive bids.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to refine engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent
• Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with heavy-lift vessel capabilities.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (basic level required).
• Hands-on experience with cargo operations is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and precise.
