Fly drones! Work in the renewable energy industry!

All Energy Solar is seeking a Full-Time Solar Drone Technician to join our team. Solar Drone Technician is for a responsible, self-motivated, individual to coordinate and fly drones to gather important site information at homes and businesses interested in solar. You will learn how to fly drones and receive on the job training so you can obtain the required 107 Drone Pilot's License. The Drone Tech will travel around Minnesota with a focus on sites around the Twin Cities. Individuals in this position receive extensive training and have opportunities to work within different areas of the company and advance to other positions. This is a great opportunity to get experience in the solar industry as well as drone licensure and flight hours.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  • Take thorough photo and video documentation of project sites
  • Successful completion of the 107 Drone Pilots license to safely operate a drone following FAA regulations.
  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and timely with customers and colleagues which includes various communication methods: Google Suite, Email, G-Chat, Virtual Google-Meet, and other related communication software(s).
  • Complete reports and upload documentation to company software for other departments to complete design work for sales and installation.
  • Perform final assessment "witness tests" in conjunction with the Utility company, meeting requirements for customers to successfully turn-on their systems.

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

Skills/Qualifications
  • Must complete, acquire, and maintain 107b Drone Pilots license and thereafter safely operate a drone following FAA regulations.
  • Proficient in Google Suites/Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Calendar, Forms, Docs, Gmail) or related software.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organization skills.
  • Thrives in a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Resourceful and creative.
  • Positive and professional demeanor.
  • Valid driver's license and must complete and clear an MVR (motor vehicle report) background screen and be able to successfully drive a company vehicle for work related purposes.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including potential overtime hours as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Comfortable working extended hours in extreme environments/climate (cold, heat, wind, etc) (frequent).
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (frequent).
  • Must be able to transport and drive for short and long distances for work related purposes within our service area (including but not limited to: MN, WI, IA).

Compensation & Benefits
  • This is a full-time non-exempt hourly (over time eligible) position with an expected base rate $19.00 - $20.00 hourly (Depending on Qualifications & Experience).
  • Pay increases may be available for additional certifications beyond base certification.
  • PTO accrual per hour will be .03847, up to 80 hours annually (120 hours annually after year 1).
