Job Summary:

AFIT conducts research related to nuclear survivability for U.S. Nuclear Enterprise mission partners. These projects execute research & development, analysis, and technology maturation for problems of interest to DOD stakeholders. The objective of this graduate level research position is to conduct research of interested to AFIT's mission partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Requested scope includes research and analysis, meeting, and review participation, and the assessment/evaluation of research and analysis products produced by researchers at AFIT.
  • Expectations also include conducting, supporting, and/or participating in research, experiments, and analysis on the subject of interest.
  • Participate in regular research and analysis meetings and updates. Projected frequency is weekly to biweekly.
  • Perform research and analyses. Provide corresponding reports of relevance to the mission partner.
  • Additional research-related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
  • Location: WPAFB, AFIT
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or other related degree
  • Air Force Institute of Technology Graduate.
  • Able to obtain a S//RD//CNWDI security clearance

Desired Qualifications:
  • Current S//RD//CNWDI security clearance
