Years of Experience
- Lead in the planning, design and delivery of reservoir simulation studies. Build, maintain and update reservoir models for the purpose of predicting future performance and optimizing reservoir development strategies.
- Develop production forecasts for field development planning and economic evaluations.
- Contribute to oil and gas reserve evaluations in accordance with accepted industry standards for the corporate reserves base and net asset evaluation.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish simulation study objectives and resource requirements.
- Prepare the scope of work for reservoir simulation studies, including technical evaluations of proposals from consultants or other third parties.
- Define reservoir properties based on analysis of available geoscience, pressure and production data. Determine the need for additional data acquisition and manage the data acquisition process.
- Coordinate efforts in building reservoir models using available simulation software applications.
- Review simulator input data, oversee simulation runs, interpret results and modify input parameters and algorithms as required.
- Work with geoscience specialists to integrate static and dynamic models, and to incorporate data obtained from new wells and other information sources.
- Perform history matching based on pressure and production data. Make refinements to the simulator as required.
- Integrate SCAL/PVT/PTA data in reservoir models and ensure history matching.
- Integrate reservoir surveillance data in current models.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering (Master's preferred).
- At least 10 years of experience with an international exploration and production (E&P) operator in dynamic simulation modelling. Expert in black oil, compositional, streamline and other levels of simulation. In-depth understanding of static reservoir properties and how to integrate them into dynamic modelling. Strong background in dual porosity/dual permeability reservoir modelling, reserves estimation and reporting.
