Senior Process Safety & Risk Engineer

About the Role
We are supporting a leading energy operator to find a driven and technically sound Process Safety & Risk Engineer. This is a great opportunity to contribute to high-impact onshore and offshore operations, as well as major brownfield and capital projects. What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver process safety and loss prevention support across operations, shutdowns, maintenance, and brownfield scopes.

• Identify and assess process risks; develop and implement procedures to reduce hazards.

• Support the delivery of risk engineering studies and contribute to risk-based solutions in operational and project contexts.

• Implement company-wide safety objectives and risk management strategies across assigned assets.

• Review engineering and project documentation for compliance with safety standards.

• Facilitate and lead hazard identification and risk assessments (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, SIL).

• Support Safety Case and Barrier Management activities across multiple asset types.

• Participate in and review Management of Change (MOC) processes.

• Track and analyse safety performance indicators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Represent process safety in multi-disciplinary project teams, including model reviews and quantitative risk assessments.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Chemical, Mechanical, or Safety Engineering.

• At least 6 years of experience in process safety, loss prevention, or industrial safety in the oil & gas or related sectors.

• Proficient in hazard identification methods (HAZOP, What-If, etc.) and risk assessment tools.

• Familiarity with emergency response planning and safe systems of work.

• Competent with risk and consequence modelling tools (e.g., PHAST, PHA-Pro, BowTie).

• Comfortable interpreting technical documents and presenting to diverse stakeholders.

• Able to balance multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-responsibility environment.
